About Us

The Idea

We started as an education provider ourselves and began lending money to students to study at our own campuses - this allowed more students to take on flexible and meaningful training that fit their lives.

After seeing how much simpler it was for our students, and how popular it was because a large number of our students wanted to 'earn' and 'learn' at the same time, we developed the idea into 'Ed Lend'.

The Launch

In the 2020 COVID year, with the challenging year it was for everyone, we decided to launch Ed Lend to help fund education more flexibly. We literally launched Ed Lend during lockdown.

In our view, a lot of people needed to complete their training quickly due to the pandemic and not always with traditional education providers. People needed to re-train but due to the economic impacts of COVID-19 not all of them had the funds on hand they needed.  Most people had been working and had some savings but needed those savings for their living costs.  People didn't have time to study for years and needed to be able to choose the best study option for them immediately, often to fit with a part-time job if they could get one.

Launching Ed Lend enabled students to study on their own terms and get back into the workforce in jobs they wanted more quickly.

The Future

We think life is short, moves fast, and changes often.  We see the future as one where people will need to re-train and develop more frequently than they ever have before.  We think the current student loan system favours the past and that the new world of education requires a different approach.

We see Ed Lend as the fairest and most flexible way for a student to have real choice and to respond quickly to the job market and their own development needs.  We hope Ed Lend can help learners prepare and adapt for the future by providing choice, convenience and real flexibility with the studies they choose.
